Dr.S.P.Rajagopalan was born on 23rd Nov 1943 in Trichy. His parents are Mr.S.Parthasarathy and P.Maduravalli. He has an elder brother Dr.S.P.Srinivasan, Sister Mrs. Lalitha Krishnan and younger brother Dr.S.P.Balaji, working as the Principal of A.M.Jain College, Chennai.
He has studied in “Thinnai Pallikoodam” from I std. to V Std. From VI Std. to XI std. studied in E.R.School, Trichy (1954-1961). He has completed his PUC in the year 1961-62 in National College, Trichy. In 1962-65 completed B.Sc. Mathematics in A.M.Jain College, Chennai. He has completed his M.Sc.(Applied Mathematics) in 1965-67 in IIT Madras, Chennai. And Joined as faculty in D.G.Vaishnav College on 22nd July 1967 and continued as Principal of the same college from 1996-2001.
He got married to Mrs. Sasirekha on 11th February 1971. His son Anand Rajagopalan married to Anuradha and got two children Ananya & Anika. His daughter Rajasree Rajagopalan married to Sanjay and got two children Vaibhav & Viba. Both his son and daughter are settled in abroad.
Then he joined as Dean of College Department Council, University of Madras from 2001-2005, then he worked as Advisor for Mohammed Sathak Group of Institutions up to 2007. And now he is working as Prof. Emeritus & Dean in Dr.M.G.R. University and also Advisor to Bakthavatchalam College, Chennai.
